On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Saarbrücken as a city, the German Federal Post Saarland issued on April 1, 1959 a special postage stamp. Pictured are the Old Town Hall of Saarbrücken and the Burbacher hut. Since November 20, 1947, the French currency was 1 Franc = 100 centimes on the Saarland stamps. the editorial board therefore records the nominal values from catalog number 226 in centimes.
