Joint space flight USSR GDR 2nd edition For the first joint space flight USSR - GDR, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues a further four multicolored special postage stamps and one special postage stamp block. Special cancellation from September 21 to November 20, 1978 Common space flight USSR - GDR 5-pfennig value: spacecraft Soyuz, multi-spectral camera MKF 6 M, orbital complex The multi-spectral camera developed and produced by scientists of the USSR and the GDR and built in the traditional VEB Carl Zeiss Jena MKF 6 was used successfully for the first time on board the research spacecraft Soyuz 22 from 14 to 21 September 1976 for testing the methods of remote sensing of the earth. On board Salut 6, the modified MKF 6 M camera serves 90 percent of the economically relevant tasks and 10 percent of basic research. During the first year of operations, 12 cosmonauts - nine Soviet and one each from the Czechoslovak Republic, the People's Republic of Poland and the GDR with the MKF 6 M won valuable photographs of the territory of their countries.
