With the seventh issue of the stamp series "Die österreichische Arbeitswelt", Swiss Post picks up on a current topic. The large public enterprise "Post", which is currently managed by the public sector, is still divided into the three operating divisions that have grown together in the course of history: The "Yellow Post", nationalized in Austria since 1722, is responsible for transporting three-dimensional shipments. The PostBus service acts as one of the carriers of public transport. The "gray mail", now under the international standard name "Telekom", the concerns of the entire telecommunications real. Whether "yellow" or "gray", the public needs the services of all sectors, which is symbolized on the stamp on the working world of Post and Telekom by the reference to the "fast mail" and "mobile phone". In spite of constant modernization, postal and post office services inevitably still provide the traditional, often very laborious and personnel-intensive "messenger service from person to person". In the telecoms sector, the messenger has been transformed into telephone and data lines or radio links. These form the basis for the realization of the communication society, which will exchange information via information superhighways in the "global village". The long-established company "Post" and its employees will also occupy an important position in this completely changed working environment and under the new conditions of liberalized markets.
