The youth stamps are issued in favor of the »Deutsche Jugendmarke e.V. Foundation«, which promotes measures to promote the well-being of young people through the proceeds of the contract. This year's edition of the youth brands is dedicated to the theme of children's toys. It deliberately does not present the "high-tech toy" of the present, but toys that have accompanied especially the child's life in the end of the 20th century. Board games have been enjoying great popularity with young and old for a long time. Among them, chess, as one of the oldest and most demanding ones, occupies a special position because it is played both at home and in competition at national and international championships. Wooden toys in the form of vehicles, building blocks and entire building ensembles have a centuries-old tradition and give the unfolding of the childish imagination and creativity wide space. The doll is the most important toy with which even small children practice role-playing games within the family and train social behaviors. The teddy bear as cuddly and cuddly toy is for many children an absolutely indispensable companion and object of care not only at bedtime. Electric toys like the electric train are not just fun for children. Even with the fathers, "the child in man" quickly comes to life again. Other toys of this kind, such as a crane or a steam engine, stimulate imaginative play.
