The Deutsche Bundespost follows a resolution of the German Bundestag and issues two special postage stamps with surcharges, which are to be used for study trips of young people to Berlin. The art advisory board of the Deutsche Bundespost dealt in great detail with the topic of these stamps; because of it will depend primarily on the sales success. A group of artists was left free to search for folksy motifs and present them in unlimited color. So here it was important to create brands of lively charm and youthful buoyancy that were obviously unique and therefore desirable. The Federal Minister for the Post and Telecommunications selected the designs of Ernst Göhlert, which treated in a narrative form topics from German folk songs. The two stamps were printed in a multi-color offset process at Bundesdruckerei Berlin.
