On March 5, 1958, the German Federal Post Saarland issues a special stamp on the subject of forest fire prevention. Pictured is a burned-out forest and the warning lettering "Prevent forest fires!". Since November 20, 1947, the French currency was 1 Franc = 100 centimes on the Saarland stamps. the editorial board therefore records the nominal values from catalog number 226 in centimes.
