Continuation of the interesting series "Austrian Inventions" - the new value is the theme of the world's first waterproof mascara, invented by Helene Winterstein-Kambersky. The brand motif shows a portrait of the lady as well as the traditional cosmetic product, which is also still available today in the nostalgic-looking packaging. Personal details: Helene Winterstein-Kambersky, 1900 to 1966, came from an old Austrian family of musicians. She was the great-great-grandson of the Salzburg composer and founder of the local elementary school system, Michael Vierthaler, who studied music with Mozart's father Leopold and Joseph Haydn and later was a patron of Franz Schubert. Her own singing career, which began in the early 1920s, earned her numerous prizes and honors at international music competitions - not least because of her impressively sensitive lied interpretations of various composers. During her numerous appearances, Helene Winterstein-Kambersky always had the painful experience of how quickly the stage make-up melted away under the influence of the floodlight and subsequently left black tracks. Driven by the anger about this fact, she finally started to develop the perfect mascara in her own kitchen. After several thousand attempts, one day it finally happened: the world's first patented, waterproof mascara - "La Bella Nussy" - was invented, heralding a new era in eye cosmetics. After a severe lead poisoning from then on confined to a wheelchair, Helene Winterstein-Kambersky founded her own cosmetics company in 1936. Numerous further developments and product innovations followed and always had one thing in common: the products withstood all external influences and were as gentle on the eyes as on the skin. The company "Helene Winterstein Cosmetic", situated in the center of Vienna since the beginning and still a family business, is now run by the third generation. The different eyelash creams are still produced according to the original recipe of high quality and selected ingredients in our own laboratory. Beeswax, natural oils and food-safe colors are used. It is thanks to these high-quality ingredients and the careful processing that these creams are particularly mild and perfectly compatible with the sensitive eye area.
