In Lüsse, a small village in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark, launched more than 100 participants who managed on their flights routes of up to 700 kilometers. The glider airfield in Lüsse is one of the largest in Europe and was already the venue for the European Gliding Championships in 2000. It is located in one of the most thermally attractive areas of Central Europe and is thus ideally suited for the World Gliding Championships, which will be held in Germany for the fifth time after 1937, 1960, 1981 and 1999.
