The NaturFreunde, founded in Austria in 1895, is a scion of the international labor movement. In 1905 the spark of the still young organization jumped over to Germany. NatureFriends like to hike, want to get to know the country and its people, and take a break and a stop with their nature friends' houses. You can ski in the mountains, go skiing, snowboarding or canoeing. In addition - 100 years later - their commitment to environmental and climate protection as well as social justice. If you look at the 450 nature friends' houses in Germany today, you will see more than beautiful hiking huts or pretty holiday homes. Built on their own, they have emerged as open spaces for a political organization committed to environmental and nature conservation. The traditional nature friends greeting "mountain free!" Also today means free right of way for all and freedom of thought.
