Brahms, who was born in Hamburg on May 7, 1833, worked as a pianist and occasionally also as an arranger of light music. On concert tours he met Franz Liszt and later Robert Schumann. An enthusiastic essay by Schumann established Brahms' fame as a composer. In 1862 Brahms came to Vienna for eight months to give concerts, and in 1868 he moved to this city altogether. Despite many symphonies that were written between 1855 and 1885, he is not primarily a symphonist, but rather dominates the song in his work. Brahms died on April 3, 1897 in Vienna and was buried next to the grave of Beethoven. The brand image shows a portrait of Johannes Brahms after L. Michalek.
