Reinhold Schneider was born on May 13, 1903 in Baden-Baden. He is one of the most important Christian writers of the last century. His most famous work, the historical novel "Las Casas before Charles V", appeared in 1938 as a Christian appeal against the persecution, torture and murder of the Jews. In late 1944, he was charged with high treason. It came before the end of the Second World War but no longer a procedure. In 1954 he published his "Sonnets of Life and Time, Faith and History" as well as his memories and diaries "Wrapped Day". In 1956, Reinhold Schneider received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. On April 6, 1958, he died in Freiburg im Breisgau.
