Marianne Hainisch is one of the great female figures of the second half of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. She was born on March 25, 1839 in Baden near Vienna. The Austrian Women's Movement began with its initiative and is inseparable from the personal life of this extraordinary and highly gifted woman, the mother of the later first Austrian Federal President (1920-1928), Dr. med. Michael Hainisch, connected. The birth of the Austrian Women's Movement was approved on March 12, 1870, when it was founded by Marianne Hainisch. The coming decades were marked by the massive fight against crusted, social structures with the aim of rebuilding the discriminating realities women-friendly. On May 5, 1902, the founding General Assembly of the Federation of Austrian Women's Associations took place, to which at that time 13 women's organizations belonged. His first president was Marianne Hainisch. The important women's rights activist died on May 5, 1936.
