25th Anniversary of the Liberation of Fascism On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the liberation from fascism, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues three multi-color special postage stamps and one multi-colored special postage stamp block. May 8, 1945 - Starting point of a historical turnaround On the 8th of May this year marks the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Germany from fascism. The historic victory over Nazi barbarism, in which the Soviet Union played a decisive role, created the conditions for a fundamental change in German history. The defeat of German imperialism offered the German people the chance to finally draw lessons from the past, to disempower the enemies of the nation, and to open the door to social progress. Under the leadership of the working class and its Marxist-Leninist vanguard, the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, this task was consistently carried out on the soil of the German Democratic Republic in two victorious revolutions. The close friendship and cooperation with the USSR formed the secure pledge of success right from the start. The victory over fascism was not only the starting point for decisive revolutionary changes on German soil, but also led to a fundamental change in the balance of power in the world. Popular Democratic revolutions have occurred in a number of countries in Europe and Asia. These were the largest event in world history since the Great Socialist October Revolution and led to the emergence of the socialist world system. The three special stamps and the special block published by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of the GDR on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the liberation of fascism, under these aspects, honor the heroic struggle of the Soviet Union and the peoples of the anti-Hitler coalition in smashing fascism, reminiscing Commemorating the victims of the Hitler dictatorship and reporting on the German-Soviet friendship, which has been unbreakable since 8 May 1945, as well as the solidarity of the socialist countries on their common path. 10 pfennig value When nine Soviet divisions began to liberate Berlin in April 1915, each of them carried a red flag with a hammer, a sickle, and a Soviet star, in order to replant them at the Reichstag after their final victory. After bitter fighting on April 30 at 22:50 the reconnaissance Kantarija and Yegorov were the first to reach the dome of this building and hoisted there the victory banner number 5 of the 150th Division. There is a documentary photo of this, which was based on the design of the brand. Today, this flag is in the Moscow Army Museum.
