For the second time since 1978, Garmisch-Partenkirchen will host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships from 7 to 20 February 2011. The motto »Festival in the Snow« expresses the fact that the organizers in the venerable winter sports metropolis combine a sophisticated cultural program with fascinating alpine skiing. The focus is on the players who fight for the coveted medals on downhill, super-G and giant slalom on the spectacular Kandahar track or at the special and combination slalom in the Gudiberg Arena. If the spectators are as enthusiastic as at the 2006 World Cup, then we will be a true winter wonderland.
