Utility and Working Dogs The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues six multicolored special postage stamps with pictures of utility and working dogs. Utility and Working Dogs 10 Pfennig Value: Airedale Terriers Numerous other breeds were involved in the genesis of this breed in the second half of the last century. His name implies his native land: this refers to the Airedale River in the English county of Yorkshire. He is thus the only recognized service dog breed, which is not of German origin. The Airedale has many good qualities that are used consciously by humans. He has a very good hunting ability, is an excellent track dog and an exemplary Schutzhund, which is characterized by special attachment and resistance. Due to the rich spectrum of these useful properties, he finds friends in many countries.
