It can be seen far into the state of Schleswig-Holstein and is considered a landmark of Rendsburg. The bridge over the Kiel Canal was built from 1911 to 1913 under the direction of Dr. Ing. h.c. Friedrich Voss built. To reach a headroom of 42 meters, a 4.3 kilometer long elliptical loop was needed on the city side. Only then could the height difference to the main station be bridged. The structure has a total length of 7.5 kilometers and is 68 meters high. The heritage-protected transporter bridge, which was set up on long ropes for vehicle and passenger traffic hanging from the bridge, is unique.
