Buildings of the German Post With the illustrations of buildings of the German post office the Ministry for post and telecommunication of the German Democratic Republic issues four multicolored special postage stamps. Special postmark from 9th February to 8th April 1982 Buildings of the German post office 20 Pfennig value: post office Bad Liebenstein The post office in bath Liebenstein is an old Thuringian framework construction, which was completed in 1895 under the direction of the postmaster Griebel and on 1 October 1895 was put into operation. Initially only carrying out postal operations, the establishment of a telegraph office took place in the following years and until 1925 the building remained unchanged. Comprehensive conversion and extension work took place between 1925 and 1927. With the transition to the telephone dial-up in 1926 330 participants could be connected. In 1954, more modern switch systems, a service apartment and in the former voter's hall of the local exchange a cultural space was established.
