Buildings of the German Post With the illustrations of buildings of the German post office the Ministry for post and telecommunication of the German Democratic Republic issues four multicolored special postage stamps. Special postmark from 9 February to 8 April 1982 Buildings of the German post office 50 Pfennig value: Main post office Dresden 6 The main post office Dresden 6 was built in the period 1962 to 1964 by the construction and assembly combine Dresden in modern architecture and building method. The main building is a reinforced concrete skeleton precast construction. The pictured counter hall wing was individually projected and partially monolithic built (mixed construction). In the architectural design, the unit was considered to the adjacent development area. The articulated facade contributes to the architectural relaxation of the overall impression. In the ticket hall, there are six ticket offices for letter acceptance, two places for the lottery ticket acceptance and two places for parcel pick-up. The postal delivery takes place for the city of Dresden and the district for a total of about 48,000 inhabitants.
