Leipziger Spring Fair 1971 At the Leipzig Spring Fair 1971, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued two multicolored special postage stamps. Powerful Conveyor Systems of the German Democratic Republic Crawler Dredger SRs (K) 470 (15-pfennig value) The TAKRAF industry of the German Democratic Republic is in accordance with the international division of labor between the socialist countries for system automation and complex rationalization of extraction, transport, transhipment and Warehouse processes responsible. He is one of the most efficient machine exporters in Europe and the largest exhibitor at the Leipzig spring fairs. Opencast mining equipment, cranes and conveyors are production focuses of this internationally known industry. Since 1945, nearly 200 opencast mines in Europe have been equipped by machines of the VVB TAKRAF. Building on experience in open pit technology, as well as in the design and manufacture of open pit mining equipment, the TAKRAF industry has developed modern machine systems for the continuous recovery and transport of materials. These machine systems have a capacity range of 100 cubic meters to 25,000 cubic meters per hour. Bucket wheel excavators as continuous and highly productive mining equipment are today preferred. TAKRAF developed a complete series of such bucket wheel excavators with a very wide range of applications. In the last ten years, TAKRAF factories equipped 11 open pit mines in the USSR alone, the largest trading partner of the German Democratic Republic. The extreme climatic conditions in the Soviet Union - from great heat to maximum cold temperatures - confronted the machine builders of the VVB TAKRAF with particularly difficult tasks. With the development of special equipment types for extreme climatic conditions, a range of equipment has been released to the satisfaction of the partners, which fully meets the high requirements. In the USSR, bucket wheel excavators were used and tested, which can dissolve unscuffed hard coal including solidified inclusions with strength coefficients of 1,5 ... 5 according to Protyjakonov. Three conditions had to be met: - Dissolution of the hard coal in unslotted formation - Loading size of hard coal smaller than 300 mm - Operating safety of the bucket wheel excavators down to -40 ° C. The bucket wheel excavator shown on the stamp is an SRs (K) 470 type device which meets the described technical conditions. The SRs (K) 470 bucket wheel excavator is a special version and development of the SRs 470 basic type, which works in a wide range of variants in six European countries, both coal and tailings. The development of the excavators is a joint work USSR-DDR, in which valuable Soviet experience could be used on partly converted equipment. To ensure that the device operates at temperatures of -40 ° C, a number of constructive measures were required. The field of application of the bucket wheel excavators was significantly extended with this pioneering achievement of the VEB Schwerkaschinenbau Lauchhammer. TAKRAF provides state-of-the-art belt conveyors for the extraction of materials. TAKRAF also developed appropriate settlers that are tuned to the extraction equipment. With these devices, various technological device complexes can be formed, ranging from the Kleintagebau for building material extraction to modern large opencast mining for lignite mining. In recent years, special attention has been devoted to the development of specialized equipment for use at bulk storage sites.
