Party Congress of the SED The Socialist Unity Party of Germany, the party of the working class and the leading and directing force of socialist society in the German Democratic Republic developed in the 25 years of its existence into a Marxist-Leninist fighting party, inextricably linked with the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and become an integral part of the international communist and workers' movement. Their party congresses reflect the continuous rise of the socialist GDR as an integral part of the socialist world system with the Soviet Union in the lead. The "Principles and Goals of the SED" adopted by the Unification Party Congress of the KPD and SPD, the First Congress of the SED (21/22 April 1946), paved the way for the successful implementation of the anti-fascist-democratic revolution and proclaimed the establishment of socialism as goal. The victory of the anti-fascist-democratic revolution, the establishment of the workers and peasants state, the emergence of germs of socialist relations of production in the form of the state-owned enterprises, the beginning of the planned economy, and the awareness of these objective conditions for the transition to socialist revolution in consciousness The working class and its allies made it possible for the Second Party Conference of the SED (July 9-12, 1952) to decide on the systematic construction of the foundations of socialism. In the bitter struggle with West German imperialism at the beginning of the 1960s, the working class and its allies had laid the foundations of socialism and led the socialist relations of production in the GDR to victory. The VI. From 15 to 21 January 1963, the SED Party Congress adopted a new program, the Socialist Program. He placed the party and the working people of the GDR the task of the comprehensive construction of socialism. On the basis of this program and the successes of the socialist construction achieved by the working class and its allies, the seventh congress of the SED (April 17-22, 1967), based on the prognosis of further development, was able to lay down the guidelines for the overall design of the SED developed social system of socialism and the implementation of the scientific-technological revolution. In close cooperation with all parties and mass organizations united in the National Front, the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, as a party of the working class and party of the united working people of the German Democratic Republic, sets the course for strengthening world socialism in the class struggle with imperialism, for European security and the Preservation and security of peace through the all-round strengthening of the German Democratic Republic and its solid integration into the socialist community led by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It sees in the close and permanent fight alliance with the CPSU and between the GDR and the Soviet Union the guarantee for the further successful development of the developed socialist society in the German Democratic Republic.
