The VIII Congress of the SED, which, according to the resolution of the fifteenth session of the SED Central Committee, takes place from June 14 to 19, 1971, reviews the progress of the socialist GDR as a result of the creative activity of the working class, the cooperative peasants, and the intelligentsia and other working people and the solid alliance of the GDR with the USSR and the other countries of the socialist community of states. Based on Marxism-Leninism and the rich experiences and theoretical insights of the XXIV Congress of the CPSU and on the results of the broad popular discussion in preparation for the congress, he answers the solution of new, mature questions in the construction of the developed socialist society.
