Leipzig Spring Fair At the Leipzig Spring Fair in 1976, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued two multi-colored special postage stamps. 10 Pfennig value: Wohnhochhaus Wintergartenstraße With a height of 95 meters, the Wohnhochhaus Wintergartenstraße is the third tallest building in the Messestadt. The 31 storeys contain 30 one-room, 78 two-room and 100 three-room apartments, which were handed over turnkey after about two years of construction at the turn of the year 1971/72. His coronation was the octagonal, built in Gleitbauweise building with the installation of the huge exhibition emblem. The advertising system is 16 meters high and turns one and a half times per minute on its own axis. Since August 1974, the large café "Stadt Dresden" with a main restaurant, a café and an ice bar invites you to visit the residential skyscraper. Here, painters and sculptors have managed to create a true Elbe city environment based on Dresden's motifs. The last phase of construction was in August 1975, a high-rise connected two-storey department store opened. Including early and late sale and coffee shop, it is with about 1,550 square meters of retail space z.Z. the largest shopping center for everyday goods in the GDR.
