Meissen Porcelain With a selection of motifs from the historical and current production of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes two multi-colored se-tenants, each with four special postage stamps. No special first-day cover envelope 20-pfennig value: Lid vase Shape: Mid-18th century Decor: "Indian bird and flower painting" The "Indian flower painting" characteristic of "Meissen" was under the direction of Johann Gregorius Höroldt between 1720 and 1725 as an independent decoration developed according to motifs of East Asian porcelain painting. The sumptuous lid vases were intended for the equipment of the Dresden castle, hence often the name "lock vases".
