Narrow gauge railways in the GDR, 2nd edition With the images of narrow gauge railways in the GDR, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issued two multi-color se-tenants. Special cancellations from July 21 to September 20, 1981 Narrow Gauge Railways in the GDR Narrow gauge Freital-Hainsberg - Kipsdorf spa The 750 mm narrow gauge Freital-Hainsberg - Kipsdorf spa is the link between the Freital and the Kipsdorf spa located on the main railway line Dresden-Zwickau in the Erzgebirge It leads from Freital-Hainsberg through the scenic Rabenauer reason and the narrow valley of the Roten Weißeritz past the district town Dippoldiswalde in the recreational and winter sports area around Kipsdorf. The railway overcomes over its length of 26.3 km a height difference of 351 m. The biggest inclination is 1:33. The route leads over 40 bridges. A popular recreational area for the population of Dresden is the Malter dam near Dippoldiswalde. The station Kurort Kipsdorf has a modern, representative reception building and a high-mounted signal box. In addition to tourist and tourist traffic, this train also serves freight to the located in the Weißeritztal industrial plants. The goods traffic is handled primarily on trolleys.
