7th stamp exhibition of the youth, Schwerin 1982 For the 7th stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR, which takes place in 1982 in Schwerin, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic, two multicolored special postage stamps in the se-print with intermediate field out. The sums collected will be made available to the Philatelistenverband in the cultural association of the GDR. Special cancellation from 6 July to 5 September 1982 7th stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR For the seventh time a large national stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR takes place. After Halle (1966 and 1973), Karl-Marx-Stadt (1970), Gera (1976), Cottbus (1978) and Zella-Mehlis (1980), this time the district town Schwerin hosts the young philatelists. From July 16 to 25, 1982, the exhibition will open its doors there, with the best exhibits from 14 to 25 year old collectors. A second part of the 7th stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR, with collections of 10- to 13-year-old girls and boys, will also be shown during the VII Pioneer Meeting from 19 to 22 August 1982 in Dresden. The 7th stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR is under the motto "Friendship to the Soviet Union - our heart issue". It is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the USSR; At the same time it is a contribution to the X. Federal Congress of the Cultural League of the GDR. On the subjects of history and civics, art and culture, science and technology, physical culture and sports young philatelists from all districts of the GDR will show meaningful collections. In addition, there are country and special collections, exhibits on postal history, airmail, ship mail and chronicles on philatelic youth work. All in all, it is also a concern of the 7th GDR Youth Exhibition to demonstrate how recreational philatelic activity as a part of cultural folklore can be particularly useful in youth work in order to provide knowledge and insights for the education and training of young socialists. The organizer of the exhibition is the Philatelistenverband in the cultural association of the GDR. Since the 2nd stamp exhibition of the youth of the GDR in 1970, postage stamps for these highlights of the Jugendphilatelie have always appeared. Since the 4th exhibition in 1976 in Gera, it has become a tradition to combine history and present in the form of cityscapes and city coats of arms on two brands and an intermediate field. This tradition is continued in 1982. From today's point of view, the 20 Pfennig brand unites historic and modern buildings in the district town of Schwerin, whose history can be traced back to a castle already mentioned in 1018 and which today is the center of an agrarian-industrial district as a socialist city. Specifically, the motive of this note can be seen: - in the foreground of the new fountain on the 1979 reconstructed butcher market, which was created by Stefan Horota and the Low German folk song "From Mr. Pastor sin Kou" has the theme - behind it in the first row of houses far left the Old Town Hall on the market square with its 1835 created by GA Demmler neo-Gothic Tudorfassade, behind which half-timbered houses from the late 17th Century hid, - next to four historic gable fronts 1975-1976 newly built town houses on the market, - right next to the fountain old Schwerin half-timbered house in the Schmiedestraße, - in the center of the 1889-1892 built tower of the old Schwerin cathedral; in the background on the far right the typical silhouette of Schwerin Castle, which incorporates parts of buildings from the 15th to the 17th century in its present form as neo - renaissance building in the years 1843 to 1857 under the direction of GA Demmler and FA G. Semper was built, - left in the background and to the right of the half-timbered a row of new buildings, including the Hotel Stadt Schwerin at the station.
