35 years of GDR, second edition Three multicolored special postage stamps and a block are issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the GDR for the 35th anniversary of the German Democratic Republic. Special cancellation from September 11 to November 10, 1984 35th anniversary of the founding of the German Democratic Republic "The emergence and growth of the GDR," it says in the appeal of the Central Committee of the SED, the State and Council of Ministers of the GDR and the National Council of the National Front of the GDR, "corresponds to the law of world history, which determines our epoch of the transition from capitalism to socialism." Of course, the growth and growth of our thirty-fifth republic is a continuous process in which certain caesura marks the transition to a new quality of development. There are historic highlights in this process, which, in their historical uniqueness, bring to light the qualitative essence of society as a whole. In its values of 10, 20 and 25 pfennigs, the present issue represents such striking events that at the same time characterize the fundamental processes of the GDR's existence and development. The value of 10 Pfennig shows a motif of today's Eisenhüttenkombinats Ost. The groundbreaking ceremony in January 1951 marked the beginning of the workers' struggle to fulfill the goals of the first five-year plan in our history, which was decided in 1950 for the years 1951-1955. The socialist planned economy, which until then had developed into half-year or two-year plans, now took on immediate shape. The development of the Ironworks Combine East and of the entire associated territory clearly demonstrates the advantages of socialist planned economy: With this work an important factor of our metallurgical basis was created, which contributed to our significant achievement growth and thus to our successful social policy. For the people in a once backward area, the meaning and content of life changed. They witnessed the creation of the foundations of socialism during the transition period (1945-1961) and the associated political, economic, structural, social and spiritual-cultural upheavals. All over the country such profound changes took place. Socialist property, socialist planned economy, growing performance and rising living standards - these are just a few moments that shed light on our development in the first decade.
