Symbolic representation of the unity of peace and socialism with the coat of arms of the GDR and with different motives. Special cancellation from 4 October to 3 December 1984 35th anniversary of the founding of the German Democratic Republic At noon on 7 October 1949, the members of the German People's Council met in Berlin for their 9th session. In deep agreement with the laws of our time, they unanimously decided to found the German Democratic Republic. Among them were 96 Communists, 50 members of the DBD, 46 of the CDU, 17 of the LDPD, 15 of the NDPD. 55 deputies were mandate holders of various democratic mass organizations, five belonged to the SPD. So they were people of different political and ideological locations, they were different ages and had different experiences of fighting, they came from all social classes and strata. And yet they founded the GDR in full awareness of their shared responsibility and their common will: above all, the new German state should be a state of peace and a state of the people. Today we can say that this claim was fulfilled. "The ground on which we stand is firm," it says in the appeal of the Central Committee of the SED, the State and Council of Ministers of the GDR and the National Council of the National Front of the GDR on the 35th anniversary of the founding of our Republic. We can continue building on it. All those who have brought their work into this state for years, and often decades, and prospered, can be proud. We love our socialist fatherland, and we protect it. "The two basic ideas - a state of the people and of peace - are the determining motive on the values of the present issue, on the values of 10, 20, 25 and 35 pfennig or Block to 1 Mark is therefore always the graphic combination of the coat of arms of the GDR with the most well - known peace symbol, the peace dove contained, in which the deep unity of essence of socialism and peace is expressed, as it was from the beginning in the policy of GDR - in solid alliance with the Soviet Union and the other socialist states and in connection with all in the world, which stands for the preservation of the peace - embodies.Where the working class as a producing class is also the owner of the crucial means of production and political power Exercises and is firmly connected with the other working people in all questions, there are all the basics for classes, Sch destroyed people and persons who benefit from armaments and war. On the contrary, the societal common interest of all working people is that the results of diligent joint work grow and benefit all. For this reason, the ideological foundations of socialist society are oriented towards such modes of thinking and behavior that enable peaceful economic growth in the interests of the working people. This essential unity of socialism and peace also determines the peace policy of the GDR. From the beginning, the first workers and peasants state on German soil has stood up for the peaceful resolution of all international conflicts and problems. In doing so, we contribute to the dividing line to imperialism, where in the form of the GDR and the FRG two highly developed states of the two opposing social systems clash, a special responsibility for world peace. But the most aggressive forces of imperialism can only be forced into this course of negotiation if the military-strategic balance continues. That is why the GDR, in the interests of peace, is doing everything possible to make its contribution to securing the balance, even under the changed conditions. This includes an always secure national defense. Only a strong and militarily protected socialism prevents today the most aggressive imperialist forces in the realization of their human endangering and hostile plans. In this sense, the call to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the founding of the GDR emphasizes: "The balance has kept us peace, so we will keep our balance." The preservation of the military-strategic balance is a fundamental prerequisite for realizing a decisive goal of socialist peace policy: the gradual lowering of the level of equilibrium, the complete dismantling of nuclear weapons, the prevention of the expansion of conventional weapon systems and the militarization of the universe. The state coat of arms of the GDR - in its combination of hammer, compass and wreath of corn - shows who is the most important thing in the socialist state - it is the working class and all other working people, who increased our annual national income almost tenfold in just 35 years, the agricultural yield per hectare more as doubled, reduced the amount of working time many times over, significantly increased the scientific and technical levels, banished unemployment from the life of society, created an effective education system for all the children of the people, and developed a rich socialist national culture. The list should be continued; always the conclusion would be: In the thirty-five years of development of the GDR embodies the creativity of the people. The decisive condition for the continuation of this is the securing of peace. Therefore, an all-embracing socialist state is our crucial contribution to the global peace struggle.
