35 years GDR, first issue Two multicolored special postage stamps and a block are issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the GDR for the 35th anniversary of the German Democratic Republic. Special lot from 21st August to 20th October 1984; 35th anniversary of the founding of the German Democratic Republic On October 7, 1949, the German Democratic Republic was founded. This was a turning point in the history of the German people and Europe. For the first time on German soil, the working class under the leadership of its Marxist-Leninist party and in alliance with all other working people took over the political power. In the close friendship with the Soviet Union and the other socialist countries profound political, economic, social and spiritual-cultural transformations were carried out on the soil of the GDR. "With the founding of this state," it said in the appeal of the Central Committee of the SED, the State and Council of Ministers of the GDR and the National Council of the National Front of the GDR, "fulfilled what many generations of upright German dreamed and for what they had bravely fought: A Germany of Peace, a life without exploitation and oppression, a secure future for children and grandchildren. " The decisive basis for this was and is the socialist power and ownership in the GDR. It ensures that the interests of the working class and other working people form the content and purpose of state policy. This is particularly evident in the main task, which has been at the heart of the SED's corporate strategy since the VIII. Party Congress of the SED (1971). In a close unity of economic and social policy, the main task is to satisfy the ever-growing material and spiritual-cultural needs of the working people on an ever-higher level, based above all on intensive economic growth. This policy makes clear the objective agreement that exists in socialism between social, collective and individual interests. Above all, this promotes the conscious engagement of the working people for socialism, and frees up creativity and new driving forces. The continuation of this policy under changed conditions strengthens the relationship of trust between the SED, the socialist state and the people of the GDR. Thus, in the present and future, it is possible to do everything necessary to preserve peace and at the same time continue the unity of economic and social policy at a high level. To clarify this connection, that is the concern of the present issue. With the coat of arms of the GDR in front of the building of the State Council of the GDR on the block to 1 Mark is again pointed out that such a successful development of the socialist GDR was only possible because the working class in the alliance with the other working people and under guidance the SED has the political power firmly in their hands. This firm political power guarantees that the interests of the working people continue to be the goal and content of socialist state policy, and that the achievements of the working people, peace, as a whole, are reliably protected.
