Technical Monuments - Trams The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes four multi-colored special postage stamps depicting historical trams. Special postmark from 20 May to 19 July 1986 Historical streetcars 40-Pfennig value: Berlin streetcar 1910 From the pursuit still vehicles with a larger transport capacity emerged the shown four-axle streetcar railcars, of which the coachbuilder Falkenried Hamburg in the years 1908/10 to the "Trams of the city of Berlin" 115 pieces delivered. With this design, the body was extended to 10,900 mm and a space of 24 seats (transverse seats) and 18 standing room can be achieved. The car body with open platforms, Umsetzgittern, small window division and lantern roof is still based on the same principle as the two-axle tram car in 1900 and designed the horse car. New components are the biaxial bogies with a pivot distance of 5,200 mm (center distance 1,300 mm) of the so-called maximum design. They each have a driven axle - drive power of the drive motor 24.5 kW - and a running axle. Since other Berlin tram companies in the years 1901/12 had procured another approximately 600 vehicles of similar design, this type of vehicle long represented a considerable proportion of the car park. In addition to the illustrated motor coach 68 three more maximum power cars in different states are obtained as historic vehicles, with occasionally special trips are carried out.
