With a view to the 50th anniversary, the public should be made more aware of the young and recent history and the federal structure of the Federal Republic of Germany. In the style of the English country houses and the Low German renaissance one built the parliament of Brandenburg between 1899 and 1902. Intellectual father of the building was the architect Franz Schwechten. The deputies and the administration reside here since September 1991.
