Every year for the "Stamp Day" POST & x; TELEKOM AUSTRIA special postage stamps, which since 1991 and up to the year 2000 as motif a pair of letters from the two words "philately" and "stamp" have. Both words each contain ten letters, which - set among each other - thus result in ten pairs of letters. Letters alone would be empty characters; only the light of the meaning behind it brings it to life. Otto Stefferl, the creator of this series, puts in its colorful picture sheets the central, the deepest topic of human being par excellence in the center of the considerations: the love between man and woman. And this is exactly the theme of the present 7th issue of the special stamp series for "Stamp Day 1997", albeit with very subtle undertones. As motive the 7th letters of these words, "A" and "E", are used in ornamental decoration.
