The motif shows the devil's table in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest Nature Park near Kaltenbach. This rock formation of federal sandstone consists of a ca. 12 meter high rock needle, which carries a 50 square meter and 300 tons heavy rock slab. So it's only a matter of time before the whole thing collapses. This shape gave the rock its name. He was first climbed on August 26, 1923. The catalog numbers 18, 19, 22, 23, 25, 27, 28 and 29 appeared in June and July and August 1948 respectively. For the sake of systematics, the editorial board records the first day of each month as the date of issue.
