The motif shows the devil's table in the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest Nature Park near Kaltenbach. This rock formation of federal sandstone consists of a ca. 12 meter high rock needle, which carries a 50 square meter and 300 tons heavy rock slab. So it's only a matter of time before the whole thing collapses. This shape gave the rock its name. He was first climbed on August 26, 1923. The catalog numbers 32 to 41 appeared in November and December 1948 and in January and July 1949. For the sake of systematics, the editorial board recorded the first day of each month as the first day of issue.
