Design defines the interface between creativity and innovation and thus not only decides on the design of products and services, but above all on their economic success and competitiveness. This is no longer just an external appearance, but rather an optimal contribution to the development and positioning of brands. Good design is therefore an instrument for the strategic design of the market presence as well as an ambassador of quality and product innovation. The "Schiebel-Camcopter", which is featured on the new special stamp, is an unmanned helicopter equipped with measuring instruments, cameras and other instruments that can be used for up to ten hours and enables risk-free remote diagnostics. The unique design language clearly sets the CAMCOPTER® S-100 apart from conventional helicopters. The designer, Gerhard Heufler, born in Dornbirn in 1944, had been a freelance industrial designer in Graz since 1975. In 1995, together with Gerald Kiska, he founded the Industrial Design degree course at the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum in Graz, which he headed until his death and was ranked 2006 among the 60 best design schools in Europe, Asia and North America by the US magazine "Business Week". Heufler, one of the most successful Austrian industrial designers, received a total of six state design awards, including a mine detector and the Camcopter S-100, both of which are also featured in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent design collection in New York. He was also honored in 2005 with the "USA Industrial Design Excellence Design Award" in gold.
