The publication of the special stamp "protect the tropical habitats" in the series "For the protection of the environment" should help to raise awareness of the importance, but also the possibilities for the protection of these habitats in the general public. With the proceeds of the special postage stamp, projects of associations and associations in Germany and abroad are primarily promoted, which inform the population about the causes of the destruction of tropical habitats and at the same time show possibilities for action to preserve them. Above all, the projects abroad should help to develop local solutions for the sustainable preservation of their habitats together with all those affected. Especially in the tropical and subtropical regions, it is therefore important to combine the economic interests of the local population with the awareness of the need for protection and sustainable management of ecosystems. Only through the development of adapted forms of use, the nature is largely spared and thus preserved for man in the long run as a livelihood.
