The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) selects, for each year, a Europareken draft, which is available to its members for the joint edition. The common European brands are the same in motif, but they differ in the currency and name of the issuing country. The draft Europareken 1973 was selected by the Post CEPT Commission at its meeting on 24 August 1970 in Montreaux, Switzerland.
