The countries of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) decided at the Seventh General Assembly of the CEPT, which took place in The Hague from 11 to 22 September 1972, the theme of the 1976 European Trade Marks »Artworks« (ceramics, stoneware, porcelain, pottery). It can be seen from the titles that in the large formats the "Reith School" by Johann Elias Ridinger is on top, while the small, pre-stitched sheets are titled "Curiosa". Both figures are made of painted porcelain and are 14.4 cm high. Due to the underglaze blue mark of two entwined C (for Carl Eugen Duke of Württemberg) on ​​the back of the base they are marked as products of the porcelain manufactory in Ludwigsburg. This manufactory was founded in 1758 and existed until 1824. The figures were made around 1765. They are probably works by the sculptor Johann Christoph Haselmeyer, who worked from 1760 to 1771 at the Ludwigsburg manufactory. He has created especially models for folk types, shepherd, hunter and gardener couples who are characterized by their casual clothes and their casual posture. The two Ludwigsburg figures are part of the porcelain collection of the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg, which has also provided the above explanations.
