"Europa 2000" is the theme of this year's European brand selected by the organization of the European postal administrations and postal operators »PostEurop«. The special postage stamp depicts children symbolically building up stars for the »Haus Europa« and was designed as part of a Europe-wide graphic competition. The motif is used collectively by all PostEurop affiliate postal organizations for their 2000 European brands. As a special feature, the German Europa Edition is the first postage stamp in Germany to display the currency in Pfennig as well as in euros and also appears as a self-adhesive version in the stamp booklet (catalog number 2114).
