Stamps Bosnia-Herzegovina: At the Berlin Congress in 1878, the Balkan giant was declared over and a new peace order was negotiated for South-Eastern Europe. Austria was awarded the territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina. First as administrator, in 1908 the complete annexation took place. As of 1879, also own stamps for Bosnia-Herzegovina were issued, which graphically resemble the Austrian brands but had no information on nationality and currency had. Only starting from 1906 one changed this. For the graphic design of the first stamps with country designation none less than Koloman Moser was assigned. Moser realized an ingenious and sustainable idea, he used the stamp as an advertising medium for landscapes of Bosnia-Herzegovina and thus defined in 1906 a new style in stamp design that has been preserved to this day. Until then, stamps adorned exclusively coats of arms or rulers' heads.
