Hunting in the GDR On the subject of "hunting in the GDR", the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes six multicolored special postage stamps. Special cancellation from 15 November 1977 to 14 January 1978 Hunting in the GDR 10-Pfennig-Wert- Muffelwild (Ovis musimon) The Muffelwild occurs on about seven percent of the hunting estate with a stock of 3,400 pieces. The annual firing increased from 100 in 1966 to 420 in 1976. The hunters are making great efforts to reintegrate the only horn-borne wild sheep in Europe into even more biologically suitable hunting societies. Because of its sufficiency in the conditions of fermentation, it is particularly suitable to increase the amount of venison. The most important Muffelwildvorkommen is located in the district of Halle. The most striking difference to our other species of hoofed game, the antlers, is the headdress, the horns that are called "snails" in mouflon. The strongest muffle ram from the GDR reached in 1976 in Ceske Budejovice 217.90 international points (GDR record).
