Hunting in the GDR On the subject of "hunting in the GDR", the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes six multicolored special postage stamps. Special cancellation from 15 November 1977 to 14 January 1978 Hunting in the GDR 20-pfennig value: Hunting dog with pheasant The increase in the number of small game stocks is given a great deal of attention by the hunters. In the GDR annually 24,700 pieces of these colorful birds are killed. Well-trained hounds are indispensable for hunting the pheasants shot on a pheasant hunt. It takes a great deal of perseverance, effort and diligence to guide a hound to the tests. Our hunting dog nature enjoys a high international appreciation. At international events has been repeatedly demonstrated that our hounds in shape and performance withstand any comparison. The hunting dogs help us to keep the venison losses as low as possible.
