Denkmalpflege-ICOMOS On the occasion of the General Assembly of the International Society for the Preservation of Monuments in the GDR, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues four multicolored special postage stamps. Special cancellation from April 24 to June 23, 1984 Historic Preservation 85-pfennig value: Stallhof in Dresden The Stallhof was built as an outstanding building from the last quarter of the 16th century along the wall of the old city enclosure. He continues the extension of the castle complex with the long corridor and the stable building; It was designed by P. Buchner in 1586-1591 with the collaboration of G. M. Nosseni, construction by H. Irmisch. Stable building: A three-winged building with a view side emphasized by low corner bastions to the Jüdenhof. Conversions: 1730 and 1746 by J. C. Knöffel and 1772 to 1776 by K. M. Haenel for museum use (Johanneum), destroyed in 1945, 1955 to 1963 rebuilt as a traffic museum. As a connection between the castle and the stable building, the 100 m long Lange Gang was built. To the courtyard he shows 22 open round arcades in Tuscan order. The long hall of the overlying storey originally served the pedigree of the Wettiner, from 1731-1945 as a gun gallery. The courtyard side has a richly decorated façade, above the columns coat of arms decoration of the Saxon lands, in the arches and on the upper floor sgraffito painting. The façade to the Augustusstraße shows the Fürstenzug, which was designed 1872-1876 by W. Walter and executed in Meissen tiles. The Lange Gang suffered severe damage in 1945, rebuilt in 1957, reconstruction of the sgraffito painting 1979-1980. Precious was also the decoration of the actual stable yard, from which the two bronze columns (design by G. M. Nosseni, cast by M. Hilger 1601) have been preserved until today.
