From the middle of the 17th century, the postal routes were expanded to the "carriage post". The inclusion of passenger transport in the postal service offered travelers, even over long distances, binding travel guarantees. During the 18th century, the postal networks were expanded and there were even daily connections between major residences and some major cities. In the early nineteenth century, Prussia introduced, according to the French model, express posts, which were handled more quickly at post offices. In 1800, for a journey between Frankfurt / Main and Berlin estimated at up to 166 hours, managed this route in 1820 in 65 hours.
