The 27th International Professional Competition for Young Professionals took place from 16 to 28 August 1983 in Linz. This competition, which was carried out in 33 professions of the trade, the industry and the service sector and in which approx. 335 young people from all over the world participated, was held in the Economic Development Institute of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The sponsor of these international professional competitions is the "International Organization for the Promotion of Vocational Training and International Professional Competitions for Youth", with its headquarters in Madrid. The Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce, which has been a member of this international organization since 1961, together with the Chamber of Commerce of Upper Austria, was responsible for the organization and implementation of this "skilled workers' Olympiad", which was held in Austria for the first time. The purpose of the vocational competitions is to give young skilled workers the opportunity to review their professional skills internationally, to become acquainted with working methods in other countries and at the same time to establish contacts with colleagues from many parts of the world. The brand image shows the economic development institute of the Chamber of Commerce and the competition signet.
