This special stamp block represents another philatelic premiere within the 2010 edition program, as it is the first joint issue of Austria and Argentina. The motif of the stamp block shows a part of the world map on which the two states are enlarged and graphically highlighted; The brands themselves are the meteorological station of the Austro-Hungarian Community in the Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires on the one hand, and the historic weather station in Vienna's Stadtpark on the other. In the commemorative publication "Austria-Hungary and the Centenary of Argentina - The Participation of Austria-Hungary in the Centenary of the May Revolution of Argentina" (Raquel Saenz Araya de Schwald and Josefina Fornieles, published in 2009) can be read about the meteorological station of Buenos Aires, the "Monument to the Austro-Hungarian Colony" read the following: "The Austrians living here assembled on Monday, November 7, 1910, in a ceremony in honor of Argentina and put their intended contribution to the celebration of the centennial independence, namely the establishment a memorial column on the small square at the intersection of the streets Peru and Alsina, in action. The foundation stone was laid and on this occasion the diplomatic representative, Baron von Schmucker, took the floor. The Hoch- and Deutschmeister-Kapelle played both hymns, the Argentine and the Austrian, and afterwards the Minister of the Interior, Dr. Indalecio Gomez. The sponsors of this festive act were the Minister of the Interior and Mrs. Baroness Maria Schmucker. The first gray granite comes from the quarry in Nebresina. The whole column will reach a height of more than seven meters and be built of granite, bronze and other building elements. The built-in weather station will be equipped with the most modern instruments. At the end of the ceremony, the band marched to Mai-Allee and played happy marches amidst the applause of the crowd. "The weather station in Vienna's city park, however, dates back to 1913 and was considered a replacement for the old weatherhouse, which ran from 1880 to 1882 was built and stood on that place, where now the famous Johann Strauss monument is. Eleven years ago, in 1999, the weather station, which represents the brand image, was completely renovated.
