In addition, the transmission of moving images for television broadcasting or high quality music broadcasts for audio broadcasting is not possible in both cable and shortwave connections. Also radio links, which have a high quality of transmission and are suitable for television or audio broadcasts, have economic and technical limits at very long distances. For some years now, telecommunication links have been increasingly established via message files. With these satellite links, black-and-white and color television broadcasts, high-quality (stereophonic) broadcasts, long distance, telex and other communications can be transmitted over long distances and at the highest quality. The German Democratic Republic is a member of the organization Intersputnik with its own earth station connected to the intelligence network of this organization.
