Modern technology in agriculture The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes five multicolored special postal stamps with illustrations of modern technology in agriculture. Special cancellation from 12 July to 18 September 1977 Modern technology in agriculture The agriculture and food industry of the GDR has the task of providing food for the population and of raw materials for the industry in line with rising demand as much as possible from its own production further intensification and the transition to industrial production methods. The main factors of the intensification are the comprehensive chemical treatment, the complex mechanization, the melioration, the technical drying and the breeding of new plant varieties and animal breeds. Agricultural and food machinery construction is creating the conditions for the complex mechanization of agriculture through development and production and the import of new, more productive machinery, equipment, equipment and facilities. The approx. 57,000 working people in the agricultural and food machinery construction companies Fortschritt, Weimar, Impulsa and Nagema as well as in the agrotechnic trading combine have made a significant contribution to the already high level of complex mechanization achieved by developing and producing or providing more effective means of mechanization for socialist agriculture of crop production and livestock farming.
