Deep-sea ships of the GDR The Ministry of Postal and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes six multi-colored special postage stamps depicting seagoing ships of the GDR. The ship has five holds, four of them with oversized hatch openings, so that apart from ore, other bulk materials, wood and containers also rolling up to 27.2 m in length can be loaded. The freighter can be used in all sailing areas. He is 176.6 m long and 22.9 m wide. The drive is provided by an engine of the Diesel engine plant Rostock with an output of 11,200 hp. This achieves a service speed of 17 knots (31.4 km / h). The draft of the loaded ship is 10.1 m.
