On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death in 2005, Germany and abroad commemorate one of the most important German poets - Friedrich von Schiller. Born in 1759 in modest civil relations in Marbach am Neckar, Schiller was raised in 1802 for his merit for the German language in the peerage. In Schiller we think of the poor, eternally suffering, life-shy, idealistic poets of freedom, who are always struggling with themselves and their language. He created works such as The Robbers, the heroic popular play Wilhelm Tell, or Glocke, the epitome of Biedermeier, and he was the Goethe friend. 1859, 1905, 1955, 1959 were all Schiller years, which were celebrated with great effort, because no epoch of German history after 1805 wanted to renounce "their" Schiller. Today, however, the cult of the cult of our grandparents and parents is a thing of the past. Perhaps Schiller would be even more forgotten if schools and theaters were not to continue to provide for his presence. These are the hallmarks of Schiller's year 2005. With today's distance, a variety of exhibitions, readings, lectures and theatrical performances are seeking a new relationship with Schiller and his work.
