With the stamp series »For Sport« the Federal Ministry of Finance supports the foundation Deutsche Sporthilfe. When buying a sports brand a small additional amount is paid to the postage value. With this money, the wide and competitive sport is supported. The four brands in 2010 are each dedicated to an international sporting event. On February 11, the first two sports brands of this year were already published: "Winter Paralympics" and "Winter Olympics 2010". From 7 to 23 May 2010, the 16 best national teams will play for the Ice Hockey World Championship in Germany. Hundreds of thousands of visitors to the state-of-the-art multifunctional arenas in Cologne, Mannheim and Gelsenkirchen as well as around one billion TV viewers worldwide will be able to follow world-class ice hockey in 56 World Cup matches. Ice hockey is the fastest team sport. The opening match in Gelsenkirchen could watch 76,000 visitors live. The first 60,000 cards were already sold after a week. When selling all tickets, the organizer has a new visitor world record in a World Cup hockey game
