The special stamps of the series »For Sport« appear with surcharges in favor of the »Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe«. The knock-on revenues support the social concerns and tasks of the Foundation in all areas of sport. In 1860 the first German Gymnastics Festival took place in Coburg. The national event has meanwhile become an international, modern sports festival. It presents, among other things, the current developments of the clubs in the German Gymnastics Federation. This counts more than five million members in around 20,000 clubs in Germany. Around 100,000 visitors are expected at the International German Gymnastics Festival from 14 to 20 May 2005 in Berlin.
